2.2 Site Requirements
Ambient Temperature: Ensure ambient conditions are within the transmitter's operating range (-40°C to +85°C / -40°F to +185°F).
Vibration: Avoid locations with excessive vibration (>2g peak). Use isolation mounts if necessary.
Orientation: Mount the transmitter vertically or horizontally per process requirements. Ensure the diaphragm is oriented correctly to avoid media buildup.
Accessibility: Provide adequate space for maintenance, calibration, and wiring.
3. Mechanical Installation
3.1 Mounting the Transmitter
Process Connection:
Use a 1/2" NPT, G 1/2", or M20 x 1.5 process connection as specified.
Apply pipe sealant to the male threads (avoid contaminating the diaphragm).
Hand-tighten the transmitter into the mounting boss, then torque to 15-20 ft-lb (20-27 N·m).
Direct Mounting:
For direct installation on process lines, ensure the transmitter is supported by a rigid structure to minimize stress on the diaphragm.
Remote Mounting(Optional):
Use capillary seals or remote-mounted diaphragms for high-temperature or corrosive media.
Ensure capillary lines are free from kinks and routed to avoid temperature gradients.
3.2 Pressure Port Configuration
High/Low Pressure Ports: Identify the high-pressure (HP) and low-pressure (LP) ports for differential pressure (DP) applications. Label ports if necessary.
Isolation Valves: Install block-and-bleed valves to isolate the transmitter during maintenance.
4. Electrical Connections
4.1 Wiring Guidelines
Power Supply: Use a 12-42 V DC loop power supply. Ensure polarity is correct (positive to "+" terminal, negative to "-" terminal)
Cable Specifications:
Shielded twisted-pair cable (18-22 AWG) for analog signals.
Maximum cable length: 1,500 m (4,920 ft) for HART communication.
Grounding: Connect the transmitter case to a reliable earth ground using the designated grounding terminal.
4.2 Terminal Connections
Remove the transmitter cover by loosening the captive screw.
Connect wires to the terminal block as follows:
Terminal 1 (+): Positive power supply
Terminal 2 (-): Negative power supply/4-20 mA output
For HART communication, connect the HART device in parallel with the power supply.
4.3 Intrinsic Safety (IS) Installations
