Measuring Principle :

The Rosemount 3051CFA Annubar Flow Meter is designed to measure the flow of liquids, gases, and steam in a wide range of industrial processes. It features a patented sensor design that offers several advantages over traditional flow measurement methods. The annubar averaging pitot tube, with its unique T - shape, provides a fixed separation point, which enables high - performance measurement over a broad flow range. This design also creates a stagnation zone that helps to reduce noise, measurement inaccuracies, and the likelihood of particulates clogging the sensor.

The Rosemount 3051CFA Annubar Flow Meter operates based on the differential pressure principle. As the fluid flows through the pipe, it encounters the annubar sensor. The T - shaped design of the sensor causes a differential pressure to be generated between the upstream and downstream sides of the sensor. The upstream side of the sensor measures the total pressure of the fluid, while the downstream side measures the static pressure. The differential pressure is proportional to the square of the fluid velocity, and by using the Bernoulli's principle, the flow rate of the fluid can be accurately calculated.
The differential pressure signal is then transmitted to the pressure transmitter section of the 3051CFA. The pressure transmitter, which is based on the proven Rosemount 3051C technology, converts the differential pressure signal into an electrical signal.
