Measuring Principle
The Smartec CLD18 employs the toroidal conductivity measurement principle. In this method, an alternating magnetic field is generated by the sensor. When a conductive liquid flows through the magnetic field, it induces an electric current within the liquid. This induced current, in turn, generates a secondary magnetic field. The sensor measures the changes in this secondary magnetic field, which are directly proportional to the conductivity of the liquid. This non - contact measuring approach offers several advantages. Firstly, it eliminates the risk of electrode fouling, which is a common issue in traditional contact - based conductivity measurement methods. Secondly, it allows for accurate measurement of liquids with medium to high conductivity levels, making the CLD18 suitable for a wide range of applications.
