Sensor Technology

The Rosemount 1151 Differential Pressure Transmitter utilizes a highly sensitive capacitance - based sensor. This sensor consists of a measuring diaphragm and two fixed capacitor plates. When differential pressure is applied across the measuring diaphragm, it deflects slightly towards the lower - pressure side. This deflection changes the distance between the measuring diaphragm and the fixed capacitor plates, thereby altering the capacitance value.

The change in capacitance is directly proportional to the differential pressure applied. The sensor is designed with high - quality materials and precise manufacturing techniques to ensure accurate and repeatable measurements.

 

Signal Conditioning and Conversion

The capacitance change detected by the sensor is extremely small and needs to be amplified and converted into a usable electrical signal. The Rosemount 1151 is equipped with advanced signal - conditioning electronics that perform these functions.

First, the small capacitance change is converted into an electrical voltage signal through a series of electrical circuits. This voltage signal is then amplified to a suitable level for further processing.
