The upgrade card ensures seamless communication with a wide variety of devices. It supports both HART and Foundation Fieldbus devices, allowing you to configure, troubleshoot, and maintain your field instruments with ease. Whether you're working with transmitters, valves, or other intelligent devices, the Rosemount 475 Field Communicator with the upgrade card can handle the task.

The card reader used in conjunction with the upgrade card provides significantly faster upload and download speeds compared to an IrDA adapter. This means that you can transfer system software, device descriptions, and other important files in a much shorter time. However, it's important to note that the card reader cannot transfer application licenses, event capture files, or scratchpad files.

Ensuring System Integrity

Caution must be exercised when handling the system card. Using Windows Explorer and a card reader to manually transfer or copy files between the system card and a PC can corrupt the system card. This operation should only be performed under the direction of technical support personnel. Always use the Easy Upgrade Utility to transfer files to the 475 Field Communicator to ensure the integrity of the system card and the proper functioning of the device
