1. Safety Precautions

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Wear ANSI-approved safety glasses, chemical-resistant gloves, steel-toe boots, and flame-retardant clothing in hazardous areas.
Compliance: Adhere to regional regulations including NEC Section 501 for Class I Div. 1/2, ATEX Directive 2014/34/EU, and IECEx IEC 60079-0 for explosive atmospheres.
2. Unpacking and Inspection
Visually inspect shipping container for impact marks, water damage, or tampering. Photograph any irregularities for claim documentation.

3. Mounting Requirements

4. Electrical Connections
Terminal Access: Insert a 3mm Allen key into the cover's tension screws and rotate counterclockwise. Verify IP66 seal integrity post-reassembly.
Wiring:
Route 18 AWG shielded cables through ½" NPT cable glands with IP68-rated stuffing boxes. Maintain 100mm service loops near terminals.

5. Process Connection Installation
Isolation Valve: Install 3-way ball valves (e.g., Swagelok SS-43GXS6) with bleed ports for live zero calibration.
Impulse Piping:
For high-temperature (>180°C) steam, use capillary seal assemblies (P/N 00925-0200-1002) with 10mm OD 316L SST tubing.
In slurry applications, install chemical diaphragm seals (P/N 00809-0050-2003) and fill with Halocarbon® 27-X grease.
Slope impulse lines at 1:12 gradient. Support pipes every 1.5m using cushioned clamps.
Sealing: Wrap male threads clockwise with 3 layers of ½" wide PTFE tape. Torque flange unions incrementally using a cross-pattern sequence.
6. Zero Calibration
Preconditions: Equalize process and atmospheric pressure via vent valves. Allow 30-minute thermal stabilization at 25±3°C.
Procedure:
Activate the ZERO function via the local interface button (hold 3s until LED flashes green).
For HART® 7 calibration: Connect a HART475 communicator, navigate to Online > Trim > Sensor Trim > Zero Trim, and confirm offset within ±0.025% FS.
7. Configuration and Testing
Range Setting: Using the magnetic SPAN adjuster, align the upper range limit (URL) with the 20mA output. For example: 0-10 bar → 4mA=0 bar, 20mA=10 bar.
Leak Test: Pressurize to 1.5× URL for 15 minutes. Acceptable leakage rate: <0.1% FS/hr measured by pressure decay.
Output Verification: Inject 0%, 50%, and 100% pressures via deadweight tester. Record mA readings with a 0.05% precision multimeter. Tolerance: ±0.075% of span.
8. Final Inspection
Verify torque values: process flange (45 Nm), cable glands (12 Nm), and housing screws (0.7 Nm).
Affix laser-etched nameplates with SIL 3 rating data: PFDAvg=0.0001, SFF=99.9%, HFT=1.
Perform 3-point linearity check using AMETEK DPI 620 pressure calibrator.
9. Maintenance
Quarterly Checks: Measure insulation resistance (>100MΩ at 500VDC) between terminals and ground.
Biennial Service: Replace O-rings using Emerson-approved FKM material (P/N 00809-0100-4002). Lubricate stem with Dow Corning® 55 grease.
Diaphragm Integrity Test: Apply 110% overpressure for 5 minutes. Output drift must remain <0.1% FS after pressure release.
