Step | Description |
1. Unpacking | Handle the equipment with care to prevent damage. Verify the inclusion of items: AVP100 Smart Valve Positioner, Feedback lever, Hex socket bolt, Hex wrench (optional items may include Pressure gauge, Joint, Manual). |
2. Safety Instructions | Follow the safety instructions classified as WARNINGs, CAUTIONs, and Notes. WARNING denotes a potentially hazardous situation which, if not avoided, could result in death or serious injury. CAUTION denotes a potentially hazardous situation which, if not avoided, could result in minor injury to the operator or damage to the device. Notes provide useful information to the user. |
3. Storage | When storing the SVP without its original packaging, store it indoors at normal temperature (25°C) and humidity (~65%), in a place free from vibration, shock, and exposure to rain or water. If storing after use, clean the SVP thoroughly, tighten the terminal box cover, and seal wiring, piping connections, and the bleed hole on the pilot cover using provided caps or tape to prevent moisture entry. |
4. Installation | Follow the installation instructions for mounting the SVP to the actuator, setting up the air supply, and recommended piping practices. Ensure proper installation to prevent hazardous situations. |
5. Electrical Wiring | Follow the wiring guidelines and procedures. Ensure the wiring environment is safe, as improper wiring may cause an explosion. Maximum permissible cable length is 1.28 km. Use the provided screws to secure the cover after wiring. |
6. Initial Adjustment | Before turning the A/M switch, follow the initial adjustment procedure, including setting the feedback lever position and valve travel. |
7. Auto-setup and Zero-span Adjustment | Use the auto-setup feature for zero-span adjustment. Depending on the actuator operation (reverse or direct), set the LRV (Lower Range Value) and URV (Upper Range Value) accordingly. Follow the steps in the user manual for detailed auto-setup and adjustment procedures. |
8. Calibration and Configuration | Use the CFS100 Field Communication Software for calibration, configuration, and diagnostics. The software allows for precise setting of valve characteristics, monitoring of valve performance, and troubleshooting. |
9. Maintenance and Diagnostics | Regularly maintain and diagnose the SVP to ensure optimal performance. Use the diagnostic tools and parameters provided by the AVP100 to monitor valve operation and detect potential issues. |
