Protocol Support:
One of the standout features of the Emerson 375 is its support for multiple communication protocols. It is compatible with HART (Highway Addressable Remote Transducer) and Foundation Fieldbus protocols. This versatility means that it can communicate with a vast array of field devices, regardless of the manufacturer, as long as they adhere to these standards. For example, in an oil refinery, there may be HART - enabled pressure transmitters from one manufacturer and Foundation Fieldbus - based flow meters from another. The 375 Field Communicator can interface with both types of devices without any issues.
Graphical Interface
The communicator features a graphical interface that uses enhanced EDDL (Electronic Device Description Language) technology. This allows for the display of field device data in various formats such as charts, graphs, gauges, and product images. The graphical representation makes it easier for operators to understand the status and performance of the devices at a glance. For example, when monitoring the flow rate of a liquid in a pipeline, the graphical interface can display the data in a gauge format, showing the current value and any setpoints.
Battery Pack
The 375 uses a NiMH battery pack. Before using the device, it is important to check the charge remaining. A full charge is indicated by a solid green light on the charger/power supply. Charging may take up to two hours, and the device can be used while charging. To maintain the battery life and performance, it is recommended to follow the charging instructions provided in the user manual. For example, avoid overcharging or discharging the battery completely.
