Installation Instructions
1. Safety Precautions
1.1 Ensure the work area is free from explosive or hazardous atmospheres. Verify compliance with OSHA, IEC, or regional safety regulations.
1.2 De-energize and isolate the process before installation. Use lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures to prevent accidental pressurization.
1.3 Wear PPE: heat-resistant gloves, face shields, and flame-retardant clothing when handling high-temperature processes.
1.4 Confirm material compatibility using the Rosemount Material Selection Guide (e.g., 316L stainless steel, Hastelloy®).
1.5 Avoid exposure to excessive RFI/EMI sources. Maintain a minimum distance of 1 m (3 ft) from high-voltage equipment.
2. Unpacking and Inspection
2.1 Inspect the shipping container for punctures, dents, or moisture ingress. Document damages with photographs for carrier claims.
2.2 Cross-check the nameplate details: model 3051S2TG, pressure range, serial number, and Ex certification marks (if applicable).
2.3 Verify process connection specifications against P&ID drawings (e.g., ASME B16.5 flanges, NPT thread dimensions).
3. Mounting the Transmitter
3.1Location Selection:

3.4 Mounting Bracket Installation:
For pipe mounting, use a 2-inch diameter Schedule 40 pipe with a wall thickness ≥ 3.91 mm (0.154").
Secure the U-bolt clamp with 9-11 ft-lb (12-15 N·m) torque to avoid housing deformation.
4. Electrical Wiring
4.1Power Requirements:
Ensure loop impedance ≤ (Vsupply - 10.5V) / 0.022A for proper 4-20 mA operation.
Use Class 1, Division 1 certified barriers in hazardous locations per NEC/CEC guidelines.
4.2 Terminal Connections:
Strip wire insulation to 7-8 mm (0.28-0.31") and insert fully into terminals.
Apply anti-oxidation compound (e.g., Noalox®) to copper conductors in humid environments.
4.3 HART® Communication:

7. Operation and Maintenance

7.2 Draining Condensate:For steam services, open the drain valve for 5-10 seconds every 8 hours of operation.

8. Troubleshooting
